Attack on temple in Hyderabad protested

HYDERABAD: A large number of people belonging to the Hindu minority gathered outside the damaged ‘Hanuman Temple’ along with members of the civil society and human rights activists to condemn the incident, occurred on Friday, in which some miscreants had damaged the Hanuman Murti and tried to set it on fire.

A large number of worshipers, including women and children hailing from different parts of the city, reached the temple premises on Saturday to express solidarity with the community. Later, the crowed marched towards the Hyderabad Press Club where they registered a protest urging the government to ensure the security of the families residing in the vicinity of temples. The protesters termed the incident a conspiracy to disrupt peace in the society. They accused certain elements of hatching a conspiracy to attack worship places of the Hindu community to harass them.

Meanwhile, the government has already issued directives to the law-enforcing agencies to deploy security personnel outside the temples to ensure security.
