Women, Journalists also hit by tear gas

KARACHI- The police lobbed teargas shelling and baton charged the highly charged youths. As a result, the women gathered at Madinatul Ilm Mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and the journalists covering the event were hit. Five leaders of Jafaria Alliance courted their arrest on the occasion.

As many as 30 leaders of Jafaria Alliance including its chief, Allama Abbas Kumaili, courted their arrest in the first phase of the movement launched to register their protest against the continuous massacre of Shias since Friday last.

Police also baton charged the press reporters and photographers covering the incident when photographers intrepidity snapped police while they were taking away various belongings of KFC Restaurant that was damaged. Until the filing of this report, the photographers and reporters were surrounded by the police and Rangers who pressed them not to take any photo with them.

Maulana Hamid Hussain Mousavi, Javed Mousavi, Allama Javed and others courted their arrest amid the slogan of Labbayk Ya Hussain. They also chanted slogans against the government.
