BAHAWALPUR- The defence of ideological boundary and geographical frontiers are equally important for any country particularly for an ideological state like Pakistan and the daily Nawa-i-Waqt has successfully performed its due role in this regard so far like the Pakistan Armed Forces defended the motherland in a remarkable way during September 65 war.

This was stated by the Resident Editor Nawa-i-Waqt Multan, Jabbar Mufti as a chief guest at a milli naghmey/jangi tarranay competition among school students here at Bahawalpur Arts Council’s Rashidia Auditorium, which was jointly organized by the Bahawalpur Arts Council and the daily Nawa-i-Waqt/The Nation in connection with the Defence of Pakistan Day celebrations.

Jabbar Mufti said that Hameed Nizami, founder of Nawa-i-Waqt, was one of the front line soldiers of the Pakistan Movement and a close aide of the Quaid-i-Azam. He actively took part in Pakistan Movement and as a journalist; he devoted all his services to promote the Two Nation Theory and continued to safeguard the ideology of Pakistan throughout his life.

He said that children should be given extra care, proper education and necessary guidance to make them responsible citizens, as they were the future leaders of our nation. He said that the daily Nawa-i-Waqt Multan had started to organize different competitions among school children on the important occasions of our history to keep them well aware about our glorious past and remarkable achievements and this competition was a part of our programme. Later, Jabbar Mufti distributed prizes among the winning students.
