KARACHI, June 14 2006: A man killed his 10-year-old niece after allegedly subjecting her to abuse, and wounded her sisters before fleeing from their house in Orangi Town on June 13. Police said that Shamsuddin along with his wife and father-in-law went to the registration office in connection with preparation of a national identity card, leaving their three daughters at home in Ghaziabad, Sector 11½.

Police said Hafiz Abdul Rehman, brother-in-law of Shamsuddin, came to their house and sent out his 13-year-old niece Aqsa to fetch something. Meanwhile, he allegedly abused 10-year-old Iqra and later slit her throat with a sharp-edged weapon. Police said that 11-month-old girl Aysha was also found in an injured condition in the house.
