PPF constitutes a team to assess losses and needs of journalists and media in earthquake affected areas
The Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) constituted a five-member team to undertake a mission to conduct an assessment of losses and needs of journalists and media institutions in the areas affected by the catastrophic earthquake of October 8, 2005. The team reached the affected areas on Saturday, October 15.
The objectives of the assessment mission are:
1. To identify relief and rehabilitation needs of affected journalists and their immediate families.
2. To identify the immediate and long term needs for the restructuring of media institutions and infrastructure.
3. To identify ways of promoting and supporting an effective role of the media in monitoring relief efforts and rehabilitation.
