Journalists leave for upcountry to locate missing media persons

KARACHI, October 13 2005: Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) has sent a team of journalists headed by Secretary General, Abbottabad Union of Journalists, Sardar Faisal to visit earthquake affected areas and to locate missing journalists.

The PFUJ President, Haji Nawaz Raza and Secretary General, Sajid Aziz in a press release issued on Thursday October 13 said that the team of journalists would carry out a survey in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Balakot, Mansehra and other badly affected areas of AJK and NWFP and trace the missing journalists and assess the loss of their properties. The PFUJ has been making efforts to locate a number of missing journalists especially from Muzaffarabad and Bagh, who are untraceable so far due to the damaged telephone lines and communication in the calamity-hit areas.
