Positive journalism stressed

CHITRAL: Local journalists should promote positive journalism in Chitral, said Chitral Tehsil Nazim Sartaj Ahmad Khan during a tea party in honour of the newly elected Chitral Press Club and Hindukush Journalist Forum cabinet.

He said that Chitral was a remote area with numerous problems that could only be solved through proper coverage. He said Chitral had a unique culture and geographic location and remained disconnected from the other parts of the country for at least five months annually. He said it was a moral obligation for journalists to point out any government wrong doings. He said the Municipal Administration would launch a cleaning campaign to motivate people to keep their surroundings clean, and added that a fine would be imposed on littering. He urged local journalists to play positive roles in Chitral’s development. Chitral Press Club President Zahiruddin Ajiz assured him of his complete support. The party was also attended by Hindukush Journalist Forum members.
