SC denies ACJ met suspended CJP

ISLAMABAD: A press release issued by the Supreme Court on Sunday dismissed a media report that acting Chief Justice (ACJ) Javed Iqbal met suspended Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry at his residence a couple of days ago.

The release said the media “misinterpreted” a statement by Mr Iqbal in this regard. It clarified that Mr Iqbal had told journalists at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on Saturday that there were no restrictions on Mr Chaudhry’s movement and meetings. He said he himself had looked at security arrangements at Mr Chaudhry’s residence and added that he did not find any extra security there.
