Pakistan Press Foundation is concern over the Honduras TV Journalist Killing
Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) in a letter to the Juan Orlando Hernández, President of Honduras expressed concern over the killing of Honduras TV journalist Igor Padilla’s on January 17, 2017 in the northwestern city of San Pedro Sula.
PPF Secretary General Owais Aslam Ali, in his letter urged the government of Honduras to investigate the murder of Igor Padilla and bring to justice, those responsible for the cowardly act.
According to Comité por la Libre Expresión (Committee for Free Expression), Padilla covered crime for the national TV channel Hable Como Hable (HCH) and produced comedy show named “Los Verduleros.”
According To (C-Libre), Padilla was shot dead near the children’s shop where he was supervising the filming of a TV commercial, in the street in the city’s Suyapa district.
HCH director and journalist Eduardo Maldonado received a warning message on his Facebook page on 12 January, if he did not terminate journalist Elsa Oseguera, having allegation of being associated to the Maratruchas (Mara MS) crime gang, two other HCH journalists Ernesto Rojas and Suly Cálix would be murdered.
