ARY Digital TV Channel launched

KARACHI- The ARY Digital Television Channel has announced start of regular transmission from Friday. The channel had started one month test transmission on August 14.

This was stated by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ARY Digital Channel, Salman Iqbal, at a Press launch ceremony. The function was attended by journalists, mediamen, and TV stars who would be associated with the ARY programmes. Abdullah Kadwani, Chief Executive Officer Media Max was also present on this occasion.

While addressing the gathering, Salman Iqbal said: “We have achieved a position where we can challenge all channels in this ever increasing global war for viewer ship.”

He said that the need to start ARY Digital was felt because there is a very strong influx of those channels that bombard us with a culture alien to ours. He said these channels are against our ideology, ARY Digital has been structured so that the entire family can watch and enjoy themselves.

“We want to provide a medium of entertainment for more than 1 billion people of South Asia who are in search of such a channel that they can call their own,” said Salman.

He said that the main objective of ARY Digital is to entertain absolutely and completely. “We will touch all aspects of the programming sphere. We will be recreational, educational, sports-oriented and provide impartial news coverage about events and happening that concern the common man, he said.

The CEO said that for the economic improvement of our fellow countrymen they have acquired the license for the world famous programme “Who want s to be a Millionaire” which is better know as “Kaun Bane Ga Carorepati” in this region. They can plan to start airing the programme which will be called “Kya Aap Banain Gae Carorepati? From Eidul Fitr, Moin Akhtar will host the programme. Salman announced to promote public interest in SAF Games and the region as a whole. A quiz programme by the name of “ARY SAF star Gold Quiz” is to start in which a prize of one kilo of gold jewellery will be given everyday of 60 consecutive days which means a total of 60 kilos. The earning from this programme will be given to SAF Games.

Speaking on the occasion actor Nadeem said that the though he had spent his entire life in acting, this will be his first comparing assignment. He said he felt as confused as he did when he did his first film Chakori. Nadeem will be conducting this SAF programme.

On days of national importance, special programmes will be telecast to project a sentiment of patriotism. ARY will also try to boost foreign investment and bring in much-needed foreign exchange, by showing the potential of growth of our economy.
