KPC, Unilever Join Hands to Improve Climate Change Reporting in Pakistan

On March 29, Karachi Press Club (KPC) and Unilever Pakistan initiated a significant partnership through an interactive session aimed at bolstering climate change journalism in Pakistan. This engagement is part of a broader effort to establish a dynamic platform for climate journalism that enhances the accuracy and depth of environmental reporting. 

Speakers emphasized the importance of journalists developing a deep understanding of climate change and its impacts. 

Afia Salam, a Media Development Specialist and Climate Change expert, called attention to the vital need for synergy between the private and public sectors to provide journalists with comprehensive and accurate information on environmental issues. She emphasized the importance of such collaboration in nurturing well-informed climate reporting.

Shoaib Ahmed, Secretary of the Karachi Press Club, pointed out the strategic necessity of these dialogues and their potential to lead to tangible, impactful solutions. He affirmed the KPC’s commitment to hosting further events that aim to bridge knowledge gaps in climate change reporting.

Fatima Arshad, Head of Sustainability at Unilever Pakistan, highlighted the continuous nature of climate change challenges and the imperative for persistent and collaborative efforts to address them.
