Journalists barred from PML-Q CWC meeting
ISLAMABAD- The journalists for the first time, were barred from entering the central secretariat of Pakistan Muslim League-Q during the meeting of Central Working Committee (CWC) here on July 24th, 2003.
The media people, who had to stay outside the main gate for five-hours, conveyed time and again to the party secretariat about their ordeal which received deaf ear.
PM’s political secretary Yahya Munawar, the security officials said, have instructed them to shun journalists from the meeting.
Principal Information Officer (PIO) Ashfaq Gondal was also contacted to get relieve but this bid also failed.
Information Minister Sheikh Rashid, when approached to lodge the complaint after meeting, expressed his complete ignorance saying that if he had received the message he would have instantly resolve the problems of journalists.
