Journalist observe token hunger strike

PESHAWAR- The journalists community of Peshawar observed a token boycott of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP)-Awami National Party (ANP) joint public meeting held at Jinnah Park.

The boycott was observed in the wake of exchange of harsh words between the political workers and two journalists, who alleged that they were beaten by the activists of both the political parties.

One of them alleged the he lost mobile phone while one f his colleague lost purse containing Rs 2,500 cash, National Identity Card, accreditation card, Press Club Card and Service Card.

The angry journalists after holding negotiations with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Zahir Ali Shah, candidate from PF-2 and Provincial Secretary Information, Khawaja Yawar Naseer, ended their boycott. However, both affected journalists registered a complaint with the police station concerned making PPPP central president Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti, Begum Nasim Wali, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, and Bashir Ahmad Bilour as respondents.
