Faryal raises voice for media
Karachi – Pakistan People’s Party Women Wing President and MPA Faryal Talpur has said that journalists have been at the forefront of democratic struggle in the country. She said that other than Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto’s struggle for democracy, the journalist community in the country had played their important role for supremacy and upholding democratic norms in the country.
Talking to a delegation of PPP Media Cell consisting of Waqas Shaukat and others, Talpur said that wrong policies of the federal government led by the PTI had not only created difficulties for the masses but also for the media houses in the country. She said that media is the fourth pillar of the state and not only journalist community but the PPP leadership has paid a price for upholding its sanctity. “If any attempt will be made to create hurdles in the way of free media then PPP will give stiff resistance against it,” she said.
She demanded that the authorities immediately resolve the issues facing the media houses and journalists. She also asked the PPP delegation to play its role in resolving the issues of the journalist fraternity.
The delegation thanked the PPP leader and assured her that every step would be taken by the Sindh government to resolve issues of the community. If necessary, he said, they would visit different media houses along with the provincial ministers and would report back on the issue.
