Artists hail 100 percent increase in payment
KARACHI- Prominent TV artists, writer and compere have strongly hailed the announcement of 100 per cent increase in the payment to PTV artistes including, writers and singers with immediate effect.
Talking to sources, Maqsood hailed the decision of Federal Information Minister Sheikh Rashid for enhancing the payment to PTV artistes.
He said that although the Private Production offers more than PTV his identity is PTV and whenever the PTV has invited he never turned down their offer and would continue to work for PTV in future as well. Anwer Maqsood, however said that there should be a distinction in payment for the senior and junior writers.
Maqsood said that whenever he writes for PTV he gets the same payment as is given to a junior. Anwer Solangi, a prominent artistes also hailed the decision of the Federal Information Minister Sheikh Rashid for enhancing payment to TV artists by 100 per cent.
He said artists in these days like other segment of our society are facing financial problems, and the decision of the Federal Information Minister would definitely mitigate their financial problems.”
Solangi said that most of the private productions were offering much more than PTV to the artists for their dramas. Now the 100 % increase in payment to TV artistes and others by Federal Information Minister would once again attract the artists to work for PTV.
Zaheen Tahira, another seasoned artist while recording her statement also strongly hailed the announcement and said that it would encourage the TV artistes to work for PTV.
She said the announcement by Sheikh Rashid would certainly improve further the standard of PTV dramas when the artists will get attractive payment for their performance.
