APNS, CPNE strategy on ads ban today
KARACHI – Syed Faseih lqbal, the Convenor Action Committee of APNS and Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman, President CPNE in a statement have announced that a joiint meeting of APNS and CPNE Action Committees shall be held on March 26, 2004, at 3:30 p.m. at CPNE Secretariat, Karachi.
APNS Executive Committee at its meeting held on March 15, 2004, and the Standing Committee of the CPNE while considering the ban of government advertisements to Nawa-i-Waqt group of publications have formed action committees of their respective organizations to chalk out further course of actions for restoration of government advertisements and ensure equitable and judicious flow of advertisements to genuine publications.
The joint meeting shall consider and finalize the proposals of Executive Committee members for further course of actions including one day strike of publications, advertisement campaign to educate public opinion on the policies of the government refusal of government advertisement as a protest by all publications and a march of editors and publishers from the APNS Secretariat to the MazarÂe-Quaid-i-Azam and other appropriate measures.
