Women’s education vital for nation

KARACHI – The annual function and award distribution ceremony of Defense Authority Jamia Fatimatuz Zehra was held on May 12. Begum Rukshana Maqsood, wife of administrator DHA was the chief guest on the occasion.

She appreciated high standards and dynamic approach of the institution in producing forward looking, cultured and well versed young women imbibed with religious and modern knowledge and having capacity to play an important and positive role in the society.

Brig. (retd) Muzaffarul Hasan director education DHA highlighted significance of education and said enlightened and educated women can play a monumental role in shaping destiny of the nation.

He said that educated women exert tremendous influence and profoundly affect the entire generation. He emphasized that women in all ‘capacities must play their rightful and powerful role in making a strong, prosperous and versatile nation.

Brig. Muzaffar reiterated that DHA would continue to support quality education at all levels in all its forms and ramifications. He emphasized that the, spirit for pursuit of
purposeful and profitable education must be kept alive. He also stressed on bringing
dynamic changes in educational methodology in accordance with the contemporary needs.

Director education assured all out support for the institution in provision of new accommodation and all modem educational facili­ties. He also announced an award of Rs25,000 on behalf of administrator DHA for the welfare and betterment of the school.

The principal Azra Shafiq presented the annual report of the institution and said that Jamia Fatimatuz Zehra is a unique institution of its kind in the country where young women undergo Aalma Course in Islamic fiqah, Hifz Quran, shariat and tajweed Qura’n organized on scientific lines in intellectually vibrant yet traditionally Islamic environments.

She said that Jamia was affiliated with Wafaqul Madarras for its courses of studies and the young enlightened graduates equipped with Islamic knowledge and art of orato­ry graduated from the institute and were awarded degrees equivalent of MA (Islamic) and MA (Arabic).

Brig. (retd) Fayyouzur Rehman, director religious affairs DHA also spoke on the occasion and emphasized that Hazrat Fatimatuz Zehra, the daughter of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) should be the role model for every women in all spheres of life.
