Woman killed for rejecting girl’s hand in marriage
LAHORE: A woman in her 40’s was shot dead at her doorstep by a young man following refusal of a marriage proposal in Bhaggatpura locality of Shadbagh on Sunday.
Police said Shahzad Ahmad of Sultanpura along with his accomplices opened fire on Saleema and fled the scene. The victim was rushed to Mayo Hospital where she succumbed to her wounds.
Police inquiries showed that Shahzad sent his parents to the house of a girl whom he liked, but girl’s mother Saleema rejected the proposal.
The next day Shahzad phoned Saleema and she reprimanded him. The suspect got offended and came to victim’s house along with his five accomplices and opened fire.
