Woman calls for arrest of rapist
SUKKUR: A woman from Pir Jo Goth demonstrated outside the press club here on Wednesday and demanded arrest of a man who, she said, had kidnapped and raped her.
She told journalists that approximately ten months ago Imran Shah had kidnapped and kept her in detention for seven months and also raped her during captivity.
She said after fleeing from his captivity, she filed a petition in the High Court of Sindh, Sukkur circuit bench, which ordered Khairpur police to arrest the accused.
She alleged that the DPO of Khairpur was avoiding arrest of the accused who, she added, was member of an influential family.
She said that she became pregnant and delivered a baby girl in a hospital in Sukkur on November 1.
She said that the accused was hurling threats of dire consequences and forcing her to reconcile the matter. She demanded of the high-ups to take notice and order arrest of the accused.
