Woman accuses bank cashier of rape

HYDERABAD: A woman alleged on Tuesday that the cashier of a bank had raped her in her house in Tando Mohammed Khan. Addressing a news conference at the press club here, Nighat accused the cashier of a bank in Tando Mohammed Khan, Muneer Memon, of raping her.

She threatened to commit suicide if Memon was not punished. The woman said her father had died and she was living with her mother in Tando Mohammed Khan. She said that she had gone to the bank to deposit cash in her account after selling the truck of her deceased father. The bank cashier insisted that he would visit her house to attend to her ailing mother. After visiting her house in the day, she told newsmen, the cashier came again at night and raped her. She said that despite the cashier’s threats to kill both her and her mother, she had registered a case with the Tando Mohammed Khan police. She demanded that she and her mother should be provided protection against Muneer. She also demanded immediate action against the culprit and urged human rights organisations to support her.
