VOA launches morning TV transmission for Pakistan

WASHINGTON: Voice of America (VOA)’s Urdu TV programme, ‘Beyond the HeadlinesÂ’, beamed at Pakistan now has a 30-minute morning edition appearing on a different commercial channel than the one on which its evening transmission is seen. According to VOA, the half-hour morning programme will air on Aaj TV daily at 8.30am.

The newsmagazine type transmission will be hosted by Kaukab Farshori and Ayesha Khalid. VOA’s Urdu service broadcasts 12 hours a day of news and information on Radio Aap ki Dunya. The radio programme is distributed by medium-wave at 972 kHz, digital audio satellite, the Internet and a three-hour short-wave broadcast. The VOA, which first went on the air in 1942, is a multimedia international broadcasting service funded by the United States government through the Broadcasting Board of Governors.

VOA broadcasts more than 1,000 hours of news, information, educational, and cultural programming every week to an estimated worldwide audience of more than 115 million in 45 languages. khalid hasan.
