Attempt Made on Senior journalist’s life after rally
KARACHI: The president of the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ),Shamimur Rehman survived an attack on his life on Tuesday. According to him an unknown car tried to hit him,when he was standing at a bus stop at Jauhar Morr in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in the evening.
He was waiting for a taxi to go work, he told Daily Times, adding that the car appeared suspicious with tinted windows. It came towards really fast, but he managed to quickly move out of the way. KUJ general secretary Javed Asghar Chaudhry has expressed his concern over the incident and demanded the authorities make security arrangements for Rehman. Rehman led a protest rally against the government just a day earlier. He led hundreds of journalists to Governor House where they demanded that police brutality of Journalists to stop.
