Villager accuses CM adviser of illegally occupying land

NAWABSHAH: A villager, along with his family and children, staged a demonstration in front of the press club here on Sunday to protest the occupation of his land by influential people.

The villager, Nizamuddin Jokhio, threatened self-immolation if justice was not provided to him. Jokhio informed newsmen that he owns 41 acres in Deh Saat Puri, which is mortgaged with the Zarai Taraqqiati Bank. He alleged that relatives of an adviser to the Sindh chief minister forcibly occupied his land and using his influence also managed to change the revenue record. The occupiers of the land are also threatening to kill him if he made any attempt to approach any authority or register a complaint, Jokhio said, adding that he would self-immolate if justice was not done.
