Two women among three killed over Karo-Kari

KHAIRPUR: A man allegedly wounded his wife by attacking her with an axe over Karo-Kari and later with the connivance of police buried her body quietly after she died in a hospital two weeks back.

The News has learnt that 15 days ago Shahzado seriously wounded his wife Khairan. She was admitted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, but she died there. Her body was buried in the graveyard of the village of Moor Mamnan in the Mehmood Channa police limits without any post-mortem and no case was registered.

After allegedly getting a huge amount as bribe, police did not take any action against Shahzado. A compromise was also reached between the alleged killer and heirs of the slain woman, who did not register a case.

Reports said that after 15 days the issue came to the knowledge of the new SHO, who visited the and allegedly demanded a bribe, but the matter had by then come to the notice of higher authorities.

When this correspondent contacted the police station, the duty officer said that according to the law, when no one registers a complaint then the state registers a case. He said a case of murder is being registered against the alleged killer.

Our Jacobabad correspondent adds: Razoo Merhato shot dead his wife Gori Kahtoon and Ali Mohammad Neendewani over Karo-Kari in a village of Kashmore and escaped. The incident occurred in the Rahim Bux Merhato villager in the jurisdiction of the RD-109 police station.
