Two fraudsters arrested for forging CNICs

Karachi: Two suspected fraudsters were apprehended by the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) for allegedly forging Nadra’s computerised NIC cards. The police have also recovered arms and fake NICs from their possession.

Superintendent (SP) Ghulam Subhani of the AVCC said that they had received complaints about a group, operating outside the premises of Nadra head office situated in the Sharea Faisal, involved in making fake NICs. In this regard, some team members were sent in civvies. During the search, they apprehended two suspects.

The detained are identified as Rashid Sattar and Asghar Ali. It was found that they had secret links in the Nadra’s head office. The miscreants confessed that most of their customers were non-Pakistan residents. However, the police are trying to ascertain if the NICs are issued to any terrorist groups.
