Students protest emergency
LAHORE – On the second day of the student movement against emergency and PCO, restrictions on media and judiciary, the students staged a protest demonstration at Punjab University departinents of Mass Commurucation and ICS, Law College and IER.
At the IER the students formed a chain of hands to show solidarity with the lawyers. The students were holding banners and placards carrying slogans against emergency. The one kilometre long chain of hands stretched from IER to Faisal Auditorium and Institute of Biochemistry. Meanwhile, the students also staged a protest demonstration at Science College Wahdat Road. The students setup CJP Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry corner and showered flower petal at the portrait while the act of Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and other judges who took oath under, PC0 were condemned.
