By: YASIR BABBAR

Sindh government’s official website (www.sindh.gov.pk) still carry the names of ministers and advisers who had submitted their resignations in protest against the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012. They include Amir Nawab, Dr Rafiq Banbhan, Abdul Rauf Siddiqui, Nasir Khan Nizamani, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh and others, Business Recorder learnt on Saturday.

Awami National Party’s (ANP) Amir Nawab, who was minister for Labour department, Pakistan Muslim League Functional’s (PML-F) Dr Rafiq Banbhan Ministre for Auqaf, Advisers to chief minister Nasir Khan Nizamani and Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh had tendered their resignations a few months back as a protest against the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012.

This SPLGIO later became Act when it was approved by Sindh Assembly and Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan gave assent to it. While, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Minister for Abdul Rauf Siddiqui had also resigned over the matter of Baldia’s factory fire. The Sindh government’s website still contain the names and pictures of ministers and advisers who had resigned.

Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has allotted the portfolio of Auqaf to PPP’s minister Dr Nadeem Bhutto, and Mines Minerals to Manzoor Hussein Wassan a few weeks ago, but the information on the website had not yet been updated. The website also does not have links of newly-established departments such as Science and Technology, Special initiatives and others. About six-month-old notifications of various departments, transfer posting orders, tenders and job advertisements are still available on the website.
