Salaries of Radio Pakistan employees: supplementary grant released for payment of 20 percent increase
ISLAMABAD (January 16 2009): The Finance Division in compliance with the directive of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday released the supplementary grant for immediate payment of 20 percent raise in the salaries of the employees of Radio Pakistan.
The Prime Minister gave this directive during his visit to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting this morning, after which the Finance Division immediately released the grant. During the visit to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Gilani was apprised of the situation in Radio Pakistan with regard to the non-payment of 20 percent raise in the salaries of employees as per the government’s announcement in the federal budget for fiscal year 2008-09.
He was informed that the request for supplementary grant had been conveyed to the Finance Division after due approval of the Board of Directors of Radio Pakistan to cover the expenditures among others for the payment of 20 percent raise in salaries. Prime Minister Gilani took sympathetic view of the matter and directed the Finance Division to immediately address the employees’ grievances and provide the supplementary grant to Radio Pakistan.
