Rashid directs PBC to set up 20 FM stations

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has asked the Pakistan Broadcasting corporation to set up over 20 FM stations in different areas of the country at the earliest to provide people with quality programmes and information.

He gave this directive during a presentation on the performance and future programmes of the corporation here on April 16.

Rashid said these stations be set up in the uncovered and far-flung areas of the country.

He expressed his satisfaction over the programme and news content of the Radio and said that the Radio has maintained high standards in its news and programme presentation. The minister said more attention should be paid to development and presentation of interesting programmes, including those concerning the history and culture of the country.

This, he said, would attract more listeners and better educate the masses about Pakistan. The Secretary Information and Chairman PBC Syed Anwar Mehmood was also present on the occasion.
