Rally against beating up of journalists

Nawabshah, Sindh, April 08, (PPI): Local journalists took out a protest rally from Nawabshah Press Club up to Fountain Chowk at the Kutchery Road Sunday morning.
They were protesting against the culprits who allegedly broke the camera and beat up correspondent of a private Sindhi channel who went for reporting of kidnapping of two persons in the jurisdiction of Punjab police station, Taluka Daulatpur on Saturday.
On the day of incident an armed gang allegedly attacked Allah Jurio Rind village in the jurisdiction of Punjab police station and also burnt wheat crop. They resorted to aerial firing and allegedly kidnapped two villagers. Reporter Syed Ali Muhammad Shah along with cameraman Talib Rind reached the spot and as they were busy interviewing the area people armed men again appeared on the scene and thrashed them and vanished along with the recording equipment.
Later, Punjab police on the request of the journalist registered a FIR under Section 506/2, 504, 395, 337- A , 149, 148.
A protest meeting of journalists was also held at Nawabshah Press Club, which was addressed by Muhammad Anwer Shaikh, President Press Club, which demanded early action against the culprits.
