PTV joins Broadcasters Association
KARACHI, August 27 2006: The Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) joins the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) as a member of its board of directors. Addressing a meeting of the PBA Board, PTV Managing Director Mohammad Ashraf Azeem appreciated the efforts of this forum that it has successfully made to change the broadcasting environment that is now very successfully visible as a Pakistan network. He commented on the moves that it has collectively made to address important issues like telecast of Indian content. He also commended the formation of objectives, rules and regulations that the Association has framed in a short time since its formation.
Ashraf Azeem pledged that Pakistan Television’s participatory and active role as a member of the PBA board. PBA Chairman Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman welcomed the PTV to the folds of the PBA. He briefly touched upon the aims and objectives of the Association, and how this unified platform will be instrumental in taking the broadcast industry to a professional level at par with international standards and norms.
He expressed that all the issues faced by the industry should be discussed and resolved at the community level. The PBA members lauded the Pakistan Television on joining Association. Among others, Taher A. Khan of TV One, Asif A. Zuberi of AAJ TV, Ghazanfar Ali of Indus Vision, M. Aslam Kazi of KTN, Jamil Syed of PBA, Yousuf Baig Mirza of Geo TV, Duraid Qureshi of HUM TV, Abdul Jabbar of ATV, Athar Waqar Azeem and Imran Ansari of PTV attended the meeting.-PR
