Press urges to point out social evils

HYDERABAD- Sindh Information Secretary, Mirza Kareem Baig has said that journalists can play a vital role in forging interaction between the people and the government for creation of coordinative atmosphere for the development of the country.

The provincial secretary information was addressing the members of Badin Press Club during his visit.

He said that it was the prime responsibility of the newsmen to highlight the problems, being faced by the common man and point out social and ethical evils of the society for prompt redress.

He said that the government was aware of the problems, being faced by the journalists community and making efforts to resolve them at the earliest.

He assured that inter-provincial tours of journalists will be arranged by the government. He also assured that the efforts will be made for provision of computer and grant-in-aid to Badin Press Club.

He informed that training workshop and computer training courses will be arranged for the journalists of Sindh province.

The secretary informed that a campaign has been launched against those journalists cum government employees, who are involved in black mailing the government departments in the name of journalism.

If any government employee was found working as journalists, strict action including suspension from services will be taken against him, he warned.

Earlier, the President, Badin Press Club, Allah Rakhio Naeem and Secretary, Abdul Razzaq Khatri while welcoming the provincial information secretary, highlighted the problems, being faced by the journalists and professional requirements in Badin Press Club.
