Press Information Department likely to delist over 200 dummy publications
ISLAMABAD—The Press Information Department (PID) has reportedly identified over 200 irregular and dummy publications believed to acquire government advertisements.
PID earlier initiated an online mechanism of attendance to streamline publications all over the country. Under the new system, newspapers must submit a copy of their printed editions either to PID Islamabad or the regional information offices in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Multan, Gilgit, Larkana, and Skardu to prove their authenticity and existence.
The PID has also sought the removal of these irregular and dummy publications from the Central Media List (CML).
