This he said while presiding over a meeting of senior journalists to review various matters which have been or to be legislated with regards to welfare of media men. Secretary Information Abdul Rashid Solangi, Director General Public Relation Ghulam-us-Saqlain, Director Press Information Muhammad Saleem Khan, Senior Journalist Mazhar Abbas, Prof. Tauseef Ahmed Khan, Dr. Jabbar Khattak, Qazi Asif and Mr. Owais Aslam Ali of Pakistan Press Foundation were present on the occasion.

He said that Sindh Protection of Journalists and other Media Practitioners Act 2021, had been prepared with the consultation of senior journalist and their organizations. Its rules would also be prepared with their active participation, he added. Saeed Ghani said that their guidance would also be sought in nomination of chairman and representatives, of various Journalists Organizations for the committee to be formed under the Act.

Matters regarding rules for Sindh Protection of Journalists and other Media Practitioners Act 2021, nomination of its chairman and members of the commission to be formed under this Act, Newspaper Agencies, Books Registration Bill, development project of Newseum were discussed during the meeting.

The meeting also discussed possible locations for establishment of Newseum. Committee of Senior Journalists was asked to help the department in this regard. Formulation of rules of the Sindh Protect of Journalists and other Media Practitioners Act 2021, as soon as possible was agreed on the occasion.

Minister Information further said that the Provincial Government of Pakistan Peoples Party was attaching top priorities towards solution of problems of Journalist Community. The Committee of Senior Journalists appreciates the efforts of Provincial Government and pledged to work with it for resolving the issues of Media men.
