Press club chief injured in PPP-PSF clash

OKARA: Okara Press Club Chairman Munir Chaudhry was injured in a clash between the activists of the Pakistan Peopleís Party and the People’s Students Federation here on Sunday.

Local PPP leaders were attending a ceremony to observe the death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Auditorium at the press club when the PSF workers entered and started chanting slogans in support of Punjab Minister Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna.

They also threatened the PPP leaders. This resulted in a clash between the PSF and the PPP workers, who attacked each other. Munir Chaudhry, who was also present there, tired to resolve the issue but the PSF workers attacked him. As a result, he received head injuries.
