PM okays posting of 15 media diplomats to key capitals
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday approved the posting of 15 press attaches abroad just a day before the ending of his tenure, writes Mehtab Haider.
When contacted, PS to PM Shafqat Jalil confirmed that the premier had approved the summary. The premier approved appointments for Washington, New York, New Delhi, London, Brussels, Berlin, Tehran, Dubai, Singapore, Paris, Moscow, Colombo, Beijing, Ankara and Kuwait.
According to the summary, Director Public Relations at the President Secretariat Masood Anwar has been nominated for posting to Washington DC. Shafqat Jalil, who is currently serving as Press Secretary to the prime minister, has been nominated for posting abroad.
Other nominated candidates include Shafqat Abbass, who is currently serving as PS to Information Minister; and Dr Najeen, Director to Minister for Information. Other officers include Nadeem Kiani, Asim Khichi, Tahira Syeda, Asifur Rehman, Jan e Alam Afridi, Nasir Jamal and Sheraz Latif.Sources in the PM’s secretariat say that no no rule has been violated in the postings.
