PFUJ warns Govt., Political/Religious parties to restrain from violence against journalists!
KARACHI: G. M. Jamali, Secretary General Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), while taking serious notice of violence against journalists during the recent public gatherings has stated: “On behalf of PFUJ I am forewarning the Government responsibles, leaders of Political and Religious parties to restrain their personnel/workers from resorting to violence against journalists.
“It has been observed that in the recent public gatherings, journalists – particularly reporters and cameramen – had been subjected to physical torture by the activists of political, religious parties and government personnel.
“If the party leaders and government higher-ups fail to stop this violence against journalists, then PFUJ can seriously ponder upon boycotting all their news in electronic and print media”.
