Pemra Ordinance: LHC seeks comments from chairman
LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court on Friday, hearing two petitions challenging the Pemra (Amended) Ordinance 2007, again issued a notice to the Pemra chairman to file para-wise comments within a week.
The court also issued instructions to the chairman to provide the copies of his comments to the petitioners. During the last hearing, the court had issued a notice to the chairman for his appearance, but he failed.
The full bench comprising Justice Muhammad Muzammal Khan, Justice Syed Shabbar Raza Rizvi and Justice Hamid Ali Shah passed the order while hearing two identical petitions challenging the Pemra (Amended) Ordinance 2007 and another by advocate Muhammad Arshad challenging the operation of two private TV channels.
KB Aleem, executive consultant Pemra Punjab, appeared before the court. However, on the fresh petition of the PLF, the court issued a notice to the Pemra chairman.
