Pearl hearing put off

KARACHI- The hearing of appeals filed by the convicted accused in Daniel Pearl kidnapping and murder case was put off for a date in office as counsel for an appellant sought adjournment.

When the appeals filed by main accused Ahmed Omar Sheikh, Salman Saquib, Sheikh Adil and Fahad Nasim came up for hearing, the bench comprising Justice Wahid Bux Brohi and Justice Moosa K. Leghari was told that Abdul Waheed Kaptar, leading counsel is not present as he is unwell.

The bench then put off the hearing for a date to be fixed by the office of the court.

The accused have been sentenced to death by ATC Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas division on charge of kidnapping and slaughtering Daniel Pearl, Bureau Chief of Wall Street Journal.
