He said the fast growing information technology has changed the media scenario and has made the role of news agencies, electronic and print media more demanding and challenging. The IT has also opened up new vistas for the media to cooperate and contribute towards the establishment of peace in the world, he added.

Sympathising with the DG ITAR-TASS on the recent tragic incident in Beslan, Russia, he condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He said the government and the people of Pakistan have condemned this act and offered their condolences to the government and people of Russia and sympathies with the bereaved families.
