Missing reporter recovered from near Hub
KARACHI: Malik Munawwar, the reporter of a TV channel, reported missing from Karachi on Friday, has been recovered from near Hub in Balochistan late on Saturday night.
He is in the custody of the Hub police who are accompanying him to Karachi. The reported disappeared from the Tipu Sultan police limits two days ago and journalists and political parties had voiced concern over his safety.
According to his family members and office colleagues, Munawar left his office at around 2:30 pm for lunch, and went missing. His mobile phone was switched off. Munawer had recently asked Sindh former Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza some questions about the MQM at the Mardan House. Mirza had spoken out against the Urdu-speaking people in response to the questions, which led to violence in the city.
