Media being strengthened in country, says Firdous
SIALKOT – The Regional Directorate of Radio Pakistan, bureau office of Pakistan Television (PTV), regional directorate office of Press Information Department (PID) and bureau office of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) would be established at Sialkot and would start functioning next week.
These offices have been established at Sialkot for strengthening the Sialkot-based electronic and print media and bring this media to national level. During her visit to these offices at Sialkot, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan also announced to establish Education Promotion FM Radio Channel at Sialkot in active collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) besides establishing FM trade promotion radio channel at Sialkot in active collaboration with Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL).
She said that these radio channels would be helpful in promoting the quality education and trade and industrial activities in Sialkot, which is globally known for providing the world class sports goods and surgical instruments. She said that there was no doubt to say that the media was being empowered in the country.
