Man kills pregnant wife
KARACHI, June 27 2006: A man killed his pregnant wife early June 26 morning in Korangi. Police said Abid Husain, 35, killed his 25-year-old wife, Afsheen, by slitting her throat while she was asleep in their house in Zia Colony, Korangi. Police said after killing his wife, the suspect escaped from the home leaving his wife in a pool of blood. Her body was discovered by her parents, who had come to see her.
Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Hospital for legal formalities. In the afternoon police arrested Abid Husain in Zia Colony. Hospital sources confirmed that the woman was seven-month pregnant. They said she had also suffered stab wounds in the abdomen. Following his arrest Abid Husain confessed killing his wife accusing her of having a suspicious character.
Police said the couple had married over a year back. Soon after their marriage, they developed differences and Afsheen returned to her parent’s home. She recently returned to her husband’s house, but reportedly the couple again ran into differences. On June 25, a man had killed his wife and an infant son by slitting their throats in Bakhtawar Goth in Bin Qasim Town.
