Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) elects office-bearer
KARACHI- Annual elections of Karachi Union of journalists (KUJ), completed with the elections of Treasures, seven members of executive council and 30 delegates for Biennial Delegates Meeting (BDM) of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ).
According to the final list issued by the chairman of the election committee, Sajid Ali Sajid, Sarfraz Ahmed and Tahir Najmi have been reelected president and general secretary of the KUJ, respectively. Bashir Ahmad, Rafiq Ahmad, Shaikh Ashraf Khan and Saeed Sarbazi have been declared elected vice presidents and joint secretaries, respectively.
Out of total of 463, only 216 votes were polled, electing Saeed Iqbal as Treasurer with 111 votes. Siraj Ahmad, Qazi Asif, Nizam Siddiqui, Fasahat Mohiyuddin, Syed Muhammad Askari, Qamar Ullah Chaudhri and Shafiq Ahmad were declared elected members of the Executive Council.
For BDM of PFUJ, following 30 candidates were declared elected: Imtiaz Khan Faran, Saeed Sarbazi, Mazhar Abbas, Asif Ali Khan, Tahir Najmi, M Amin Yousaf, Wali Rizvi, Siraj Ahmad, Sarfaraz Ahmad, Abdul Hameed Chhapra, Fazil Jamili, Khursheed Abbasi, Khursheed Tanvir, Yusuf Khan, Moinul Haq, Muhammad Ali, Ayub Jan Sarhandi, Abdul Qudoos, FM Bachal Leghari, Salahuddin Haider, Shamimur Rehman, Afzal Hussain Baloch, Hasan Mansoor, SM Shakeel, Syed Muhammad Askari, Naseer Ahmad, Qamarullah Chaudhri, Ashraf Khan, Sharif Kamal Usmani and Rafiq Ahmad Shaikh.
