KARACHI (January 06 2008): Najeeb Ahmed and Muhammad Imtiaz Khan Faran were elected as President and Secretary of Karachi Press Club respectively for the session of 2007-08 in the annual general elections held here on Saturday Saeed Sarbazi (Business Recorder) was elected as vice president while Aamir Latif treasurer, and Muhammad Anwar Khan Joint Secretary respectively.
According to announced results, Najeeb Ahmed got 440 votes, Saeed Sarbazi 357, Imtiaz Faran, 452, Muhammad Anwar Khan 353 and Amir Latif, 361. Sheikh Mehmood, Khursheed Abbasi, Bilqees Jahan, Javed Gega, Qazi Asif, Shams Kerio and Muhammad Bin Yousuf have been elected as members governing body KPC. Polling was scheduled to be held on December 29, however owing to the political and law and order situation was rescheduled for January 5, 2007.
