Journalists stage another walk-out from Punjab Assembly
LAHORE: Journalists staged another walk-out from the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday to protest against harassment of senior journalist Imtiaz Alam by unidentified miscreants.
It was stated that unidentified miscreants broke into Alam’s house before 4:00 am, took out his Suzuki car and set it on fire. Alam had been receiving threatening phone calls for quite some time and his applications to the IG and the SSP bore no results.
However, journalists ended the boycott after Law Minister Raja Basharat assured them that he would inquire into the matter, direct the authorities to register a case and take all measures to track down the culprits.
