Journalist tortured by CIA police
NAROWAL, April 28: CIA police subjected a local journalist to torture for more than an hour on Saturday.
Reportedly, two CIA plainclothesmen were severely beating two men on Zafarwal by-pass, when journalist Irfan Ali Javaid approached them and inquired about the reason for the manhandling.
The policemen got infuriated and started thrashing Irfan. Later, they took him to CIA police station where in —charge Akhlaq Ahmed again subjected Irfan to severe torture.
On the intervention of other local journalists, Irfan was released and shifted to DHQ hospital for treatment.
Journalists have demanded action against the policemen involved in the incident.
