IT teachers urged to promote computer education

KHAIRPUR: The Project Director Information Technology Education Department, Ghulam Asghar Memon, said on Monday the IT teachers should promote computer education in students and start refresher courses for the teachers.

Presiding over a meeting here, he reiterated that the IT teachers in Sindh would be regularised on the condition of ensuring computer education in schools. He said 103 computer labs had been established in Sindh and 103 more would be established soon.

He said the principals and headmasters of most schools were not cooperating with the IT teachers to make the labs function properly. He said he had sent a proposal to the provincial education minister to provide servers and air conditioners for the labs. He hoped that the proposal would be approved. He directed the IT teachers to motivate the students and their parents for computer education.

“The subject of computer education is compulsory for students studying in Class VI to Class VIII, while it is optional for students in Class IX and Class X,” he said. He said the government had determined to provide computer education to all the students in Sindh.
