ISLAMABAD: Islamabad acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shahid Nadeem Baloch said the Police Department has shifted its entire record to computers to provide better services to citizens in line with modern requirements.

He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Computer Data Centre at the Police Line Headquarters. Senior police officials were also present on the occasion.

He said that a data centre had been set up in which the entire police record including registers, accounts, criminal record and security arrangements had been interlinked through computers.

He said the Islamabad police was the first organisation in the country which had prepared the PC-1 of computerisation of various sections of the Police Department and sent it to the government for approval.

He said that work had started on test basis after the completion of the project in four years since its approval.

“The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 111 million,” he added.

He hoped that the project would ease conducting of investigation process and would remove the flaws in the compilation of record to ensure timely and quality services to the masses.
