ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Senator Nisar A Memon said on Monday that escape of Rashid Rauf, a British national, from the police custody was a human error and the government should not be blamed for it.

Talking to a group of local and foreign editors and senior journalists at a luncheon meeting, Memon said, “The escape of Rashid Rauf is not a new phenomenon as such incidents have also taken place in the past. The issue will be taken up with the concerned authorities. This was simply a ‘human failure’ and should not be dubbed as government failure. The authorities are making all possible efforts to arrest him.”
